Custom URL shortener

A custom URL shortener lets you pick the words in the link, such as gcut.in/menu, instead of a generated code. On Gcut that choice is a paid feature. Free shortening on https://gcut.in/ still works: paste a long URL and Gcut assigns the code.
When a custom code helps
- People will say the link out loud or type it from a poster.
- Each channel needs its own readable code so click counts stay separate.
- The same code should stay on print while you change the destination later.
When a generated code is enough
If the link only travels as a tap — a chat, an email button, a story sticker — you do not need to choose the code. Open the free URL shortener, paste the destination, and copy the result.
Rules for a custom code
Codes are 2 to 32 characters: letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores. Reserved words such as blog or login are not available. A code already in use cannot be taken twice.
