A QR code URL shortener puts one short link in two places: a tap, and a code a phone camera can scan. Create the link first on https://gcut.in/. The QR code should open that same gcut.in address, not a second copy of the long URL.
Why the short link sits inside the QR
- Chats use the text link. Posters use the QR. Both hit one code, so analytics stay together.
- If the destination page changes, update the short link. The printed code can stay, as long as the gcut.in path does not change.
- Leave quiet space around the code and test a printout with a phone before a large run.
Free links and print
Guests can create up to 5 links. A verified free account can create up to 30, and free-tier links stay active for 30 days. A paid plan removes that expiry. Do not put a 30-day free link on packaging that must work all year.
